Paul Dempsey, LCSW
Paul Dempsey received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2006 and has been working in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field since 2003. Paul has been working as a clinician at the Master’s level for over 12 years and is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) through the Florida Department of Health, now coming up on 4 years. Paul is also a Certified Master’s level Addiction Professional (MCAP) and has been a Certified Addiction Professional through the Florida Certification Board since 2010. He is also an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC), certified through the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium. Since receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2004 Paul has been doing clinical work with Substance Use and Mental Health clients for over 14 years. Paul was a Certified Behavioral Health Tech prior to that, which encompasses a decade and a half of experience working with Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health treatment.
Paul has worked with client’s suffering from just about the full gamut of human struggles, disorders, and emotional problems that people go through. Including Substance Use Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizo/Schizoaffective Disorder’s, etc. Paul has received specialized training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and other modalities, and is well acquainted with the effective treatment of these disorders to promote healthy change for individuals. Through the years he has worked at every level of in and outpatient care and with all ages and types of people with compassion and empathy. Any person who is ready and willing to make changes for the better can and will do so when they reach out to others for help.
Paul is self-pay only and is currently accepting clients in Port St. Lucie, Stuart, and Vero Beach.
